Month by month they are changing and evolving. Without a doubt, you are going to make your mark.
In fact you are better than many of the potters that you admire, but they won't tell you that, and you can't see it.

So now you know. imaginehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18096877734466819623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365638669842033250.post-67942302303218474512013-05-03T07:15:11.576-07:002013-05-03T07:15:11.576-07:00I'm 66, John, but 18 works just fine for me.I'm 66, John, but 18 works just fine for me.Hollis Engleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550281579804944085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365638669842033250.post-13831054890515394372013-05-01T11:07:02.754-07:002013-05-01T11:07:02.754-07:00No, it's not Mo.
We have had a similar one be...No, it's not Mo.

We have had a similar one before so Ross was reluctant for us to show another, which I understand.
We often have people asking for a reduction because "you have had that for some time and it hasn't sold".
I hold myself back from telling them that art does not have a 'sell by date'.
In truth, if you have work that is similar [or heaven forbid more than one copy of a print] the public are sure that you can't sell it.

So, much as I really would have liked to have the Viola clock I know that it would be a bad idea.
I can hear it now, "You have had that for at least a year and you can't sell it,so I will make you an offer".

Two words come to mind, the first starts with an F.imaginehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18096877734466819623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365638669842033250.post-25495493751638766102013-05-01T10:00:46.776-07:002013-05-01T10:00:46.776-07:00what an amazing array of clay work is the B&W ...what an amazing array of clay work is the B&W viola clock sitting in the kiln photo in your show? Believe it or not ...A very good description Hollis.
Believe it or not he used to make beautiful salt-glazed pots,
functional ware. Mind you everything that he makes now is functional but it is just a "little" bit different.

In answer to your "age" question from the previous post:
I refer to anyone younger than me as being a "girl or a boy",
anyone older than me is "an old woman or an old man".
I think it is because I can't accept that I'm getting old.

I guess that from seeing your pictures we must be about the same age, so that makes us both about eighteen.imaginehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18096877734466819623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365638669842033250.post-33819820662470463972013-04-30T15:22:33.534-07:002013-04-30T15:22:33.534-07:00Pretty wild work, John.
